Tool and Die Designer

Description= Design, engineer, and develop production tools and dies. Study and build prototype pieces, die models, and templates based on customer applications, engineering blueprints, and tool orders. Collaborate with engineering specialists to resolve design and technical problems regarding material components, manufacturing, and machinery requirements. Assemble and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, radial drill presses, shapers, and grinders and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications. Analyze data from trials and production and modify tool designs to improve tool life and performance. Develop tool mechanisms using tridimensional and mathematic configurations that verify dies and other components’ dimensions, clearances, and alignment, working with tolerances as close as 0.0005 inches. Conduct theoretical and mechanical analysis to enhance the fabrication, assembly, and performance of tools and dies within the overall mechanical and hydraulic process. Examine the shapes, dimensions, and clearances of tools to verify conformance to specifications and inspect finished dies for irregularities, contour congruity, and defects. Ensure accurate analysis of tool and die repair and maintenance. Stay abreast of the latest advances in tool and die making and engineering to drive the continuous improvement of our tool and die making methodology and service offerings.

Requirements= The position requires four years of experience as a tool and die maker or related field. The position requires skills and knowledge in AutoCAD tools, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Drafting, and 3-D Keycreator.

Punch Press Operator

Available positions = 2
Hours= 40 hours

Description= Makes own set ups and operates punch presses to produce parts. Performs daily machine maintenance.Sharpens and mount (assembly) washer dies. Verifies dimensions of parts for adherence to specifications, enter data of key characteristics into the Statistical Process Control (SPC) program.Documents on the work order the information required for traceability of the operation performed.Enter data into the tracking system by scanning the work order and enter quantity produced, and applicable notes.

Requirements= 1 year experience preferred but not required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, Ability to write simple notes. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or diagram form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
